Transition

TRANSITION
It was always my desire to avoid the hide and seek
To be the first to listen and the last to speak
But I throw down the cards and shout “read em and weep”
Firing verbal ammunition

Once I was so righteous, held my head so high
I forgot how to laugh had no urge to cry
Can’t see very far with a tearless eye
And the heart of a politician

Chorus: Hey, hey transition
All my life is just Transition

Chorus:

Years dissolve behind you with the relentless sun
Time is not on your side, it doesn’t wait for anyone
Today is the day to do the deed that must be done
Consider your condition
Chorus:

There were times I consented, I knew it was wrong
It was time to go but I sang another song
When my faith was weak and my desire was so strong
To perform in the audition

Now the pages in the book have all been read
You don’t want to close it, can’t remember what it said
Constantly confronted by the words there in red
As you test your ambition

The moon is turning red, we’re a thousand years old
Quickly take my hand as we watch it all unfold
Tell me why did we worry ‘bout the silver and the gold
And the folly of acquisition

Chorus:
